Heating The
inner lining will be soft throughout its entire thickness when heated
thoroughly. Cooling
While
the Snore GuardÒ is cooling, mark the center with a marking pen.
(Note: A clear bubble indicates the center of the upper trough.)
Center the mark in the midline between teeth #8 and #9.
Cooling too long results in the soft material becoming too hard,
making insertion difficult. Not
cooling long enough can result in burning the patient. To test, place
the soft material against your skin. Fitting
The
bite should be as close to centric as possible.
As the dentist’s discretion, it may be necessary to move the
mandible slightly protrusive to give the patient more area to bite. Snore GuardÒ
may be reheated up to 2 times after the first trial. Trimming With

Patient
Advise
For
the first few nights, put in the Snore GuardÒ
for 15 minutes before sleep to get used to wearing it. It generally
takes 2 to 3 nights to become accustomed to wearing the appliance. Do
not wear the appliance if it is uncomfortable or causing any pain. (Some
soreness of the jaw muscle is normal for the first few nights.) After
wearing the Snore GuardÒ
upon waking, brush with toothpaste and rinse, then store in the
